Interviewer: It’s got a two-foot gap
Calvin: Yeah, so these are all the things that a professional, you know, would look at, you know, during a typical service. And you spoke about, you know, we talked about Mary Poppins earlier, and kind of a lot of people have that initial idea of that’s what we do. Dick Van Dyke sweeping the chimney, right? And so, you know, back in the early days of our trade, that’s what they did-they swept chimneys, and that was pretty pretty much the extent of it because they realized that the buildup inside the chimneys was combustible and caused chimney fires and had to be removed. Well, there’s a lot more things that we do now because there are standards and codes that actually apply to fire safety and carbon dioxide poisoning safety. We inspect for all of that kind of stuff.
Interviewer: And just a side note, my sister-in-law has had two chimney fires. And it’s quite amazing.
