Position Overview

Train under expert seasoned fireplace technicians to learn all aspects of fireplace systems installation, maintenance, and repair. This on the job learning  program provides hands-on experience and comprehensive training in fireplace systems, safety protocols, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work and learn as a team on fireplace system installations, repairs, and maintenance
  • Learn proper installation techniques for various types of fireplaces and venting systems
  • Help conduct fireplace system safety  inspections and assessments
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Load and unload materials at job sites
  • Learn and follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations
  • Complete required training programs and certifications

As our newest team member, you’ll be part detective, part educator, and all-around chimney care enthusiast.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  1. Answer phone calls professionally, addressing customer inquiries and creating value in each interaction.
  2. Schedule and confirm appointments for inspections, sweeps, repairs, and installations.
  3. Gather essential information for technicians and office staff.
  4. Assist customers with financing applications, providing necessary information and explaining loan options.

Office Management & Administration

  1. Ensure SDS sheets, technician binders, SharePoint, and SOPs are up-to-date and accessible.
  2. Maintain an accurate customer database with up-to-date contact information.
  3. Process payments and manage invoices – including obtaining purchase orders.
  4. Manage email and message correspondence with customers and vendors.
  5. Keep tax rates updated monthly, verifying with the DFA.
  6. Coordinate service schedules for each company van.
  7. Schedule unassigned jobs from the CRM system.

Team Support

  1. Verify technicians are completing assigned tasks, including customer contact, estimates, and purchase orders.
  2. Ensure job completion and payment collection by technicians.
  3. Set reminders for technicians regarding deposits and purchase orders for repairs or installations.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Project Manager/Inspectors to perform fireplace system inspections and assessments, prepare and present proposals for repairs and installations while managing projects and mentoring technicians. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, excellent communication skills, and top notch customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Conduct and document Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 inspections according to NFPA 211 standards and company policy
  • Perform fireplace system maintenance, repairs, and installations of gas, pellet, electric and wood-burning fireplace systems
  • Locate, assess, and address water and gas leaks
  • Complete or supervise repairs and installations as needed
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of company products and industry codes and standards

Safety and Equipment Management

  • Set up and properly use safety equipment on all jobs
  • Manage and maintain company van, tools, and technology (cell phones, tablets)
  • Ensure proper setup of ladders, scaffolding, and protective materials at job sites

Customer Service and Communication

  • Explain inspection findings, reports, and proposals to homeowners
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication throughout the entire project
  • Conduct follow-up calls with customers regarding sent proposals and project completion

Administrative Tasks

  • Write detailed inspection reports and repair/installation proposals
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork daily (job sheets, purchase orders)

  • Lead and train other team members according to company standards

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements
  • Measure, mark, cut, and install materials
  • Mix and spread mortar or grout
  • Construct walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures
  • Create decorative trim, tile, stone or brickwork such as walkways, patios, and retaining walls
  • Install and anchor siding, tile,  stone veneer and other masonry materials

Repair and Restoration

  • Repair and maintain existing structures
  • Rebuild structures that are beyond repair
  • Repoint mortar joints in brick or stone walls – particularly chimneys
  • Perform restoration work on historic structures

Tools and Equipment

  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools specific to trades work
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of all equipment
